    OVERVIEW

Quad Tron has available a new line of very small PCM encoders called the MICRO PCM series. Quad Tron's hybrid capability and the availability of fine pitch components and fine pitch connectors have allowed for these encoders to be fabricated at a level of integration beyond subminiature. The smallest encoder, MICRO-PCM-W1-H1 measures less than one cubic inch (height: 0.25, width: 1.25, length: 3.15 inches).
The MICRO series encoders come in two different widths, 1.25 inches and 1.425 inches. The MICRO series
encoders come in four different heights, 0.25, 0.46, 0.58 and 0.71 inches. The width and height are reflected in
the model number as W1, W2 AND H1, H2, H3, H4 (example: MICRO-PCM-W1-H3). Increased capability
is provided with increased dimensions.

A MICRO PMF (very small pre modulation filter) is available internal or external to the MICRO PCM.

    MICRO-PCM-W1-H1

    The Quad Tron MICRO-PCM-W1-H1 encoder provides ultra small size in an environmentally rugged package. The MICRO encoder measures less than 1 cubic inch. The encoder is factory reprogrammable. The encoder may be sent back to the factory to reprogram the frame format, bit rate, output code, bits per word or sync pattern. Factory reprogramming allows minimum size with programmability. MICRO Pre Mod Filters are available to mount on top or beside the Micro PCM.

    MICRO-PCM-W1-H4

    The Quad Tron MICRO PCM-W1-H4 encoder provides ultra small size in an environmentally rugged package. The MICRO PCM-W1-H4 encoder measures less than 3.2 cubic inches. The encoder is field programmable. The encoder is programmed via any Personal Computer Com Port with software provided. Gain, offset, frame format, bit rate, output code, bits per word and sync pattern are field programmable. The unit contains a pre mod filter internally. The Micro PCM-W1-H4 is identical to the Micro PCM-W1-H3 encoder except that an additional 48 single ended channels ( or 24 differential ) are added at the expense of height.

    MICRO PMF

    The Quad Tron MICRO PMF is a linear phase 6 pole low pass filter with ultra small size in an environmentally rugged package used for pre modulation filtering. MICRO PMF's are available in two different package styles to mount on top or beside a QUAD TRON Micro PCM encoder. Both the MICRO PMF package styles measure less than 0.29 cubic inch. Cutoff frequencies are available from 50 KBPS NRZ TO 10 MBPS NRZ.
